We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Bioinformatician to support the development of our plant pest/pathogen molecular target identification platform. The candidate should have a strong background in bioinformatics, genomics, and transcriptomics, with experience applying AI/ML methods to large-scale biological data. The position will work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment to mine datasets for molecular targets to support the development of innovative solutions for crop protection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret large-scale genomic, transcriptomic, and multi-omics datasets to identify novel plant pathogen/pest molecular targets essential for infection
- Apply machine learning and statistical methods to narrow the list of candidate targets to those most likely to be useful for pest and pathogen mitigation
Required Qualifications:
- *MS in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science (with
AI/ML experience), Genomics, or a closely related field*.
- Proficiency in Python and/or R for bioinformatics analyses and data
visualization. - Hands-on experience with Linux-based computing environments and
command-line tools. - Demonstrated ability to manage and execute projects involving large-scale
biological datasets. - Strong background in genomics and transcriptomics, including data
processing, quality control, and interpretation. - Excellent communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail and
timelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in plant biology, plant pathology, or plant–pathogen/pest
